8 Government Assistance Grants for Small Business
2020 has been a tough year for small business. Here are 8 government assistance grants to help while times are rough.
It’s been a tough year for businesses around the country and many small businesses could use some additional support.
There are a number of grants available to small business owners from the Federal and State Governments. We’ve put together a list of some of the government grants available from each state and territory.
Grants by State
1. New South Wales (NSW) Grants
Small Business COVID-19 Recovery Grant This grant of between $500 to $3000 is intended to help small businesses and not-for-profits meet the costs of safely reopening or scaling up operations.
2. Queensland (QLD) Grants
Small Business COVID-19 Adaption Grant Program The purpose of this grant is to support small businesses subject to closure or highly impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) shutdown restrictions to adapt and sustain their operations, and build resilience.
3. Victoria (VIC) and South Australia (SA) Government Assistance
Victorian and South Australian small business owners can complete a short quiz online to find out what government assistance you may be eligible for. Take the quiz here if you are in Victoria
4. Tasmania (TAS) COVID-19 Business Support Packages
The Tasmanian Government has a list of free support that business owners can access including Business Vehicle Registration Relief, Culture and Creative Industries Stimulus Package.
5. Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Economic Survival Package
ACT Economic Survival Package has a number of initiatives to support local business.
6. Western Australia (WA) Grant
Western Australia The WA government is providing payroll tax relief and a one-off grant to eligible businesses that have been impacted by COVID-19.
7. Northern Territory Business (NT) Hardship Package
Northern Territory Business Hardship Package is an initiative to help NT businesses that have experienced significant hardship as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
8. Australian Government Assistance for Business
Nationally the Australian Government is providing assistance including JobKeeper Payments, Relief for commercial tenants and boosting cash flow for employers. Find out more information here.
