Mums & Co launched when I had a toddler to my name and was seven months pregnant with my second son. So I know a thing or two about the juggle.
To some, it may seem crazy to take on such a massive challenge when my life was about to be turned upside down. To others―I’m talking about mums like us―it makes perfect sense. As mums we know that timing will never be perfect.
I bet you know what it feels like to come across an idea that just lights you up in so many ways. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be here. For me, Mums & Co was that idea. A support network program for women in business with mumbitions.
Australia's largest general insurer IAG approached me to help them create a safe online space for business-owning mums so they could realise their dreams both in business and in life. I seemed to fit the bill partly because I had successfully founded and grown the popular insider's digital lifestyle guide, Daily Addict, partly because I was passionate about mentoring female business owners in the early days of their business journey.
So how could I resist? There really was no better way to prove that you don’t have to choose between parenthood and your career. Because you don’t.
Today the Mums & Co team has grown to a small team of 4 incredible women―all with unique ambitions―and our movement is living proof that women today are choosing to follow their dreams in all aspects of their lives. And I love that we’re giving all women a safe environment to connect, grow and learn together.

Liz Kaelin is a serial entrepreneur, exited tech founder, and sought-after commercialisation specialist as a leader in the product and tech space. Her startup, Caitre’d (“at your service” as your catering concierge) was featured on Shark Tank Australia and was generating $1m in ARR before its acquisition.
Recently voted one of the Top 19 Startup Mentors in Australia, she has a proven track record working with fast-growing companies and passionate founders helping to create products and strategies that deliver for organisations and customers alike. Amongst her numerous clients are v2Food, x15 Ventures, and other industry leaders in the tech and innovation space.
Due to her hard-won business experience and energetic presentation style, Liz served as a lecturer in Entrepreneurial Finance for the Masters of Finance program at UTS Business School for 4 years. She has a particular interest in helping women-led businesses, giving them economic and financial opportunities to better their lives, the lives of their families and society as a whole. Liz serves on the advisory board of the NSW Small Business Research and Innovation selection committee, is a Marketing Academy scholar and recently completed the Airtree Ventures Explorer program.
She’s held numerous accelerator and incubator mentoring roles currently with Techstars, Climate KIC, Boomerang Labs, Climate Salad, Tech Ready Women, Incubate, Farmers2Founders, Girls in Tech Australia and Enterprize. Liz is a professional singer and she is from New Jersey so she makes delicious Italian food (even though she’s not Italian.)
