Mundanara Bayles, with cultural heritage connected to the Wonnarua, Bunjalung, Birri-Gubba, and Gungalu peoples, grew up in Redfern, NSW. She has over 20 years of experience working for Indigenous and non-Indigenous organizations, including the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health. Mundanara is an advocate for her community, recognized internationally for her teaching skills and currently studying a Masters of Indigenous Business Leadership at Monash University. She co-founded BlackCard Pty Ltd, a 100% Aboriginal-owned business, providing cultural capability training and consultancy services.

What is the #1 question you get asked the most; and what is your answer?

Q: Am I a full Aboriginal or half Aboriginal - because I don't look like people that live in the Northern Territory.

A: I was born in Redfern in an Aboriginal Community. My mum and dad are both Aboriginal, so I only identify as Aboriginal.
